Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 Domaine Hatzimichalis

Where does it come from?

Elegant bouquet with expressive aromas of black fruits like blackcurrants and plums along with spicy notes and hints of freshly cured tobacco. An intense, sophisticated and well-structured Cabernet Sauvignon with rich tannins, concentrated flavours and persistent finish. An exquisite combination of strength, complexity and elegance.

The variety...

The first Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards in Greece were planted in the 1960s in Metsovo. Since then, many wine producers from every region in the country use it, considering it one of their superior wines. The depth of colour, the particular character of its aromas and flavours, the broad palatal spectrum and its typical varietal features are but a few of the quality elements that prompted many wineries to put this variety to good use.

Discover the unique character of the grape by choosing one of Cinque’s wine tastings or enjoy it by the glass at wine bars in Athens.

The winery...

Dimitris Hatzimichalis is the founder and current managing director of Domaine Hatzimichalis. In 1973 he bought his first 9 hectares in Atalanti Valley which is located in Central Greece. Atalanti Valley sits between the cool breezes of Mount Parnassus and the Euboean Gulf of the Aegean Sea. Atalanti was home to a tradition of smaller-scale viticulture before Domaine Hatzimichalis, which was an important factor in Dimitris’ investment. Their terroir is surrounded by an ideal ecosystem for the growing of vines.
