Where does it come from?

Single vineyard on the Trapeza plateau at 850 meters. Organic cultivation is practiced. Harvesting is done at 3 different ripeness levels throughout August.

Skin contact 3-5 hours. Must clarification after 48 hours. Alcoholic fermentation by selected yeast at very low temperature. 2 Month maturation “sur lies” in stainless steel tanks.

High intensity floral and exotic fruits aromas on the nose. Warm and crispy in the mouth. Aromatic and long aftertaste.

The variety...

The need of Muscat White grape for sunlight is essential. It thrives when the sun warms up its small berries, bestowing on their thick skin a freckle-dotted yellow-gold colour and uniquely concentrating the variety’s aromas and flavour.

As a result, small-berried Muscat White yields dessert wines of international stature (“Muscat of Patras”; “Muscat of Rio Patras”; “Muscat of Rhodes”; “Muscat of Samos”; and “Muscat of Cephalonia”).

The winery...

Cavino was founded in 1958 in Aigio by Konstantinos Anastasiou and Ioannis Douskas. It was originally a winery and became a distillery as well. The vineyard is located in a unique terroir, in the wine-growing of Aigialia, 800 meters above ocean level in the gorge of Kalavryta.

Aigio is located within a unique landscape of vineyards. The slopes of Aigialia combined with the mountains and the ocean in such a unique way, that formed a special microclimate in that area.
