Wine & Art at Cinque: Christiana Kokore’s Photography
A December photography exhibition remembered in Cinque’s 2015 archive.

In an announcement published in November 2015, Cinque introduced a December exhibition of photography by Christiana Kokore. Our walls became part of a conversation between images, wine and the people sharing the space.
We remember the warmth of that first meeting with Christiana and the pleasure of welcoming her work. Our original account described the exhibition as her first, and it remains a personal memory from Cinque’s early years.
From language to images
Christiana’s background included translation and European civilisation. Photography offered another way to express an idea or a feeling, using the arrangement of an image in place of words.
In a later interview, she described an interest in people, emotion and the detail brought forward by black-and-white photography. Those interests provide context for an artist whose work invited viewers to pause and look closely.
Art in a place of hospitality
An exhibition changes how a familiar room is experienced. A visitor may notice a photograph on arrival, return to it during a conversation or see something different after hearing another person’s impression.
For Cinque, hosting the work was a way to make room for that exchange. Wine and photography each offered a starting point for attention, interpretation and discussion.
A December chapter
The photograph preserved on this page records the exhibition in the wine bar. This is a historical account from our 2015 archive, rather than an announcement of a current exhibition.
Readers interested in Christiana’s perspective can explore her 2017 interview with Think–Feel–Discover. We remain grateful that she chose to share that early chapter of her creative work with Cinque.
