Dayvino Rituals
Two daytime Greek wine & food experiences
4 plates · 4 wines · daily 11:00–17:00
The Greek Wine Journey, by day
Athens is not only a city of monuments, museums and evening walks. It is also a city of daytime rituals — long lunches, shared plates, seasonal ingredients, chilled wine, conversation and simple moments around the table.
In Greece, food and wine have always been part of everyday life. A tomato salad with feta and rusk, a handmade pie, a piece of warm meat with yogurt and herbs, fresh summer fruit, Greek yogurt with spoon sweet — these are not just dishes. They are memories, habits and flavours connected with the Greek table.
Dayvino Rituals was created to bring this culture into a relaxed daytime wine and food experience at Cinque.
Available daily from 11:00 to 17:00, Dayvino Rituals invites guests to discover Greek wine through food, seasonality and storytelling. Each experience includes 4 plates and 4 selected Greek wines of 75ml, served in a guided but easygoing way.
It is not just lunch.
It is not a formal wine tasting.
It is a daytime Greek wine and food journey, designed for travellers, couples, small groups and wine lovers who want to understand Greece through its flavours.
At Cinque, the Greek Wine Journey is not only about what is in the glass. It is about the land, the grape varieties, the producers, the food traditions and the way Greeks share the table.
With Dayvino Rituals, we bring all of this together during the day — through two different experiences: Authentic Greek and Seasonal Greek.

Authentic Greek
Everyday Greek flavours paired with selected Greek wines
The Authentic Greek experience is inspired by the familiar flavours of the everyday Greek table.
This is the Greece many people remember from family meals, village taverns, island lunches and simple homemade food: fresh tomatoes, feta cheese, rusks, handmade pies, yogurt, herbs, pork, chocolate desserts and sweet wine.
The experience begins with a fresh salad of Cretan cherry tomatoes, feta cheese and carob rusk, paired with Roditis. This first pairing reflects one of the most recognisable combinations of Greek cuisine: tomato, cheese, olive oil and bread. It is simple, bright and deeply connected with the Mediterranean way of eating.
The second plate is a handmade spinach pie, paired with Savatiano. Greek pies are part of daily life across the country. They can be served at home, in bakeries, at family gatherings or as a light meal during the day. Spinach, herbs and pastry meet a Greek white wine style that belongs to the everyday wine culture of Attica and central Greece.
The third plate brings a more playful and modern expression of Greek comfort food: a deconstructed Greek pork pita with warm pork tenderloin, handmade tzatziki, toasted Cypriot pita, Cretan cherry tomatoes and pickled cucumber. It is paired with Retsina, one of Greece’s most historic and misunderstood wine styles. Here, retsina is presented in a fresh, food-friendly way, showing how tradition can become modern when served with the right pairing.
The experience ends with a homemade chocolate biscuit mosaic, a classic Greek homemade dessert, paired with sweet Mavrodaphne. This final pairing brings together chocolate, sweetness and one of Greece’s best-known sweet wine traditions.
Authentic Greek is generous, familiar and easy to love. It is ideal for guests who want to taste Greece through everyday dishes, served with selected Greek wines and the warm hospitality of Cinque.

Seasonal Greek
Fruit-led Greek pairings inspired by the season
The Seasonal Greek experience is a fresher and more colourful expression of the Greek table.
Greek cuisine has always used fruit in many different ways — not only as dessert, but also in salads, with cheese, with cured meats, with yogurt, with honey, with spoon sweets and sometimes even with savoury dishes. Especially in summer, fruit becomes part of daily eating: watermelon with feta, figs with cheese, grapes with wine, oranges with smoked pork, sour cherry with yogurt.
This experience was created to show that Greek food is not only traditional and rustic. It can also be light, seasonal, elegant and playful.
The first plate is seasonal watermelon with feta, paired with Mouhtaro Rosé. Watermelon and feta is one of the most loved Greek summer combinations. It is refreshing, salty, juicy and simple — exactly the kind of flavour that belongs to the Greek summer table.
The second plate features grilled apricots with goat cheese and selected Greek cured meat, paired with Malagousia. Apricots bring sweetness and aroma, goat cheese adds creaminess and acidity, while the cured meat gives depth and savoury balance. Malagousia, one of Greece’s most expressive aromatic white grape varieties, connects beautifully with the fruit-led character of the dish.
The third plate is Mani-style smoked pork with fresh orange, paired with Vidiano. In many parts of Greece, citrus fruit is used to bring freshness to richer flavours. Orange and smoked pork create a pairing that is both traditional and unexpected, while Vidiano adds structure, texture and Mediterranean character.
The experience finishes with Greek yogurt and sour cherry spoon sweet, paired with Muscat of Samos. Spoon sweets are one of the most traditional ways Greeks preserve fruit. Served with yogurt, they become a simple but deeply Greek dessert — fresh, sweet, creamy and nostalgic.
Seasonal Greek is light, colourful and full of summer feeling. It is ideal for guests who want to discover a more creative side of Greek food and wine, built around seasonality, fruit, balance and freshness.
