IN THIS GUIDE
Choosing a wine often begins with something quite personal. You might enjoy a fresh white, prefer a gentler red, or want a bottle to share with the food you have chosen. You may know exactly what you like while still being unfamiliar with the Greek names on the list.
Mr. Cinque, our AI Sommelier for Cinque Wine Bar Monastiraki, is designed to help you explore those choices. Use it as a starting point, then continue the conversation with the people looking after your table.
Start with one free sign-up
Mr. Cinque and Greek Wine School share a free email sign-up. Choose “Start for free” on the Mr. Cinque welcome page and enter your email. The option to receive Cinque news, tastings and offers is separate and optional.
Choose English or Greek on the welcome page. Then continue with the preferences presented by the tool.
Begin with your own preferences
Open Mr. Cinque — AI Sommelier and follow the questions or choices presented. Think about the colour and style you enjoy, whether you would like a glass or a bottle, and how much you want to spend.
Everyday language is useful here. “Fresh and light,” “something aromatic,” or “a red that feels softer” can express more about your preferences than a grape name you are still getting to know.
“I enjoy fresh white wines. What could I try with Greek cheese?”
A QUESTION TO START YOUR DISCOVERY
A useful starting point: a dry white, something fresh, a bottle to share, and a comfortable budget. Use the available options to express those preferences.
Bring the food into the picture
If you are choosing food as well, include it in your exploration. A cheese platter, charcuterie or a particular dish gives the wine choice another point of reference. Mention your preferences to the team too, especially when sharing several plates.
The most useful question is often specific: “Which of these wines would suit what we are ordering?” It connects the suggestion to the experience you are actually having.
Read the suggestion and decide what interests you
When a recommendation appears, take a moment to read its description. Look for a style you recognise, an unfamiliar variety you would like to try, or a pairing that makes you curious.
You can use the recommendation to start a conversation with our team: “This sounds close to what I enjoy. What would you tell me about it?” We can discuss the wine, confirm current availability and prices, and help you settle on your choice.
A simple example for your next visit
Imagine that you usually choose white wine and are sharing a cheese platter. Begin with your preferred style and budget, then explore the relevant pairing suggestions. Bring the wine that interests you to our attention and tell us what appealed to you about it.
Once it is served, notice the aroma, the texture and how it feels alongside the food. Those observations give you a more personal starting point the next time you choose.
Keep the discovery going
If a grape or region catches your interest, continue with Greek Wine School by Cinque. It is a place to explore the background to the names you encounter at the table.
Mr. Cinque brings another way to begin. Our hospitality gives that beginning its setting: a table, a conversation and a wine you can discover for yourself.
