A wine enjoyed on holiday can leave you with a question long after the evening ends. What was that grape? Where was it grown? How could you recognise something similar next time?
Greek Wine School by Cinque gives that curiosity a place to continue. Its digital learning space brings together Greek varieties, regions and wine knowledge that you can explore a little at a time.
Join the learning space
Visit Greek Wine School and choose English or Greek. When you open learning content, you may be asked to unlock access with your email. This free sign-up also gives you access to Mr. Cinque. Receiving Cinque news and offers is optional.
Choose one starting point
Open Greek Wine School. Begin with its introductory learning material if you would like some foundations, or explore a grape that has already caught your attention.
There is no need to cover everything in one sitting. For a first visit, choose one subject you would like to understand better. It might be the name you noticed on a Cinque grape card or a variety you remember from a tasting.
Try this: choose Agiorgitiko, read its introduction, and note one detail you would like to remember or ask us about.
Connect the grape with a place
Next, explore the regions material. Look for the places connected with the variety you have chosen and consider how the geographical context adds to its story.
A name on a map becomes more meaningful when you can connect it with a wine, a landscape or a place you have visited. Keep that connection in mind when you next see the grape on a wine list.

Make a comparison
Choose a second grape and compare the descriptions. What appears similar? Which differences would you be interested in exploring?
Read those descriptions as an introduction to a range of possibilities. An individual bottle also reflects its producer, origin and vintage. At Cinque, we can help you connect the learning material with the particular wines available for your visit.
Bring wine and food together
Explore the food and wine material with a familiar meal in mind. Start with a food you enjoy and consider what you would like a wine to contribute alongside it.
When you next taste a pairing, pause to notice your own response. Does the combination feel balanced? Do you notice a different aroma or texture? A short personal observation is a useful way to connect an idea with an experience.
