Cinque Wine & Deli’s Winning Streak Continues in 2024
The 2024 Silver distinction for Gastronomy & Wine Tourism, and the people and daily work behind it.

Cinque Wine Bars received Silver in the Gastronomy & Wine Tourism category of the Tourism Awards 2024. The distinction appears in the organiser’s official winners list and marks another chapter in our work with Greek wine and hospitality.
For our team, recognition is a reason to reflect on the daily work behind each visit: choosing wines, preparing pairings, sharing knowledge and making guests feel welcome.
Gastronomy and wine tourism
A tasting can introduce visitors to a region they have never visited. A grape variety, a cheese or a producer’s story can open a conversation about the places and people behind Greek food and wine.
This is the connection we try to create at Cinque. Our experience in Athens began in 2015, following the first Cinque in Lamia in 2012. By the time of the 2024 award, those years had helped us develop a way of presenting Greek wine that combines learning with personal hospitality.
The people behind the award
Nikitas Prassas, Cinque’s CEO, oenologist and sommelier, received the award with oenologist and sommelier Sophia Drakou on behalf of the team. The photographs preserve that moment at the ceremony in Athens.
Behind a tasting is a shared effort: the producers who make the wines, the people who prepare and serve them, and the guests whose questions and feedback help the experience develop.
A continuing record of recognition
The 2024 Silver followed Cinque’s Silver distinction at the Tourism Awards 2019. The two awards belong to different editions of the same institution and form part of our documented history.
Greek hospitality in practice
Our inspiration remains Greek filoxenia and our love for Greek wine. In practice, that means listening to guests, explaining unfamiliar varieties clearly and allowing time for questions and discovery.
Whether the occasion is a guided flight, a food pairing or a spontaneous glass, we want the visitor to leave with a stronger connection to the wine and its origin.
