Cinque Wine & Deli received Bronze in the Wine Culture category at the Tourism Awards 2017. The ceremony took place on 21 March 2017 at the Athenaeum InterContinental in Athens.
The distinction holds a special place in our story because wine culture has always been central to the way we welcome guests: through tasting, questions and the stories that connect a wine with its place.
Learning through a glass
For visitors discovering Greek wine, a variety’s name is often only the beginning. We enjoy adding the region, the producer and the context that help make a wine memorable.
Our approach leaves room for different levels of knowledge. Someone trying a Greek wine for the first time should feel as comfortable asking questions as a guest who already knows the vineyard well.
Food and hospitality
Greek cheeses, cured meats and other delicacies are part of that introduction. They bring another set of flavours and traditions to the table and give visitors a way to explore wine through food.
The atmosphere matters too. A friendly welcome and time for conversation help turn information into an experience that guests can enjoy at their own pace.
A family moment
Nikitas Prassas received the award on behalf of the family. At the time, he was studying oenology at the Technological Educational Institute of Athens. The photograph preserves an early moment in his involvement in Cinque’s wine journey.
